Ask what screen part and repair warranty are included

Direct answer

Before booking, ask which screen assembly will be fitted, whether it is new or refurbished, what work is included, and how long the written repair warranty lasts. Ask whether the warranty covers the part, fitting or both, and request the terms.

Repair pages may use broad terms such as “quality parts” or “lifetime warranty”. Ask what those terms mean for the specific part and work.

Key takeaways

  • Ask for the exact screen-part description.
  • Do not treat a broad quality phrase as a technical specification.
  • Read warranty duration, coverage and exclusions.
  • Keep the written scope with the receipt.

Ask what is being fitted

Ask whether the quotation is for a complete display assembly or a different component, and how the provider describes the replacement part.

As one current example, Vodafone Fix & Go says its repairs use non-OEM parts. That is the provider’s statement about its service, not an independent quality assessment or a description of every repair option.

Request the exact description in writing so you can compare like for like. This guide cannot verify a part from a product label or provider statement.

Read the repair terms, not only the headline

Ask how long the written warranty lasts, what symptoms or components it covers, and what exclusions or inspection conditions apply.

A provider’s warranty statement applies only under its own terms. Do not assume another shop offers the same period or coverage.

Check who performs an Apple-device repair

Apple states that repairs performed by Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider are the only repairs covered by the Apple Limited Warranty and AppleCare plans.

Apple also says independent repair providers that are not authorised may use genuine Apple parts and resources.

Such providers may offer their own repair warranty, but Apple says their repairs are not covered by the Apple Limited Warranty or AppleCare.

Before booking, check whether Apple or AppleCare coverage applies to the planned repair, and read the provider’s written warranty terms.

Next steps

  1. Save the written part and warranty descriptions.
  2. Ask the provider about any condition that is unclear before booking.
